Medium ruby in color. Perfumed and aromatic in the nose, with an explosively broad palate. On the rustic side of opulent, this wine is broad and rich, but with chalky tannins that hint at Patricia's ability to age. Supple and expressive, with elegantly layered raspberry and cherry flavors that take on toasty spice and black tea accents as this builds richness toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2033. This stately cuvée spent 14 months in French oak, 50% new and 50% neutral. Its supple texture deftly caresses the palate like the piano accompaniment on Linda Ronstadt's "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me." Red cherry, satsuma orange and crushed rose petal aromas lead to flavors of raspberries, earthy oregano and black tea.
