Carl Hansen & Søn OW149 Colonial Chair - Timeless Design Category: Furniture > Chairs Current price: £2,406.35 Description: The OW149 Chair was designed by Ole Wanscher in 1959. Wanscher wished to create furniture that paid tribute to classic conservative trends but also stood the test of time. He achieved this balance with the design of the OW149 Chair, and it remains his most famous design to this day. As a minimalist, Wanscher had a preference for the slim and refined. Yet despite its slender dimensions, the OW149 Chair is very stable. Its strength lying in the carefully designed bracing. The design’s sophisticated, slightly curved armrests rise to a point before taking a turn downward – a trademark Wanscher feature. The front and back legs are made of roundwood timber, with the back legs curving gently outward for added stability and a more refined result. HAY Palissade Bench - Hot Galvanised | Durable Design Category: Furniture > Seating Current price: £649.00 Description: Designed by French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the hot-dip galvanised range was developed to supplement the existing Palissade collection of outdoor furniture. United by a common principle of symmetrical geometry, the collection is engineered to reproduce the same visual simplicity and core strength throughout. Designed in colour and form to integrate effortlessly into a natural landscape or urban setting, Palissade is intended to be used over a longer period of time and become more beautiful over the years. The furniture's longevity is greatly extended by the hot dip galvanisation process, where the steel frames are dipped in molten zinc, forming a resilient coating over the entire steel surface, protecting against corrosion and offering a maintenance-free finish. The collection is particularly suited to outdoor cafés and restaurants, public gardens or urban spaces.
