### 3. Charles Albert Lopez: The Sprinter Sculpture - 14K Gold Plate - Mini
Brand: The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Category: Home Decor > Sculpture
Current price: $180.00
Description: Artful sculptures from a museum gift shop. Molded directly from the original, our sculpture reproduces a work by Charles Albert Lopez (American, b. Mexico, 1869-1906) now in the Museum's collection. The original sculpture by Lopez depicts a sprinter in a crouched position, his muscles tensed and face set in concentration, as he anticipates the start of a race. At the time the original sculpture was made, the crouching start had recently been introduced into track events. Lopez's The Sprinterwas exhibited at the St. Louis fair, and a cast of the work was selected by the United States Navy to be used on a track trophy.

### 4. Auguste Rodin: The Secret Sculpture - 14K Gold Plate - Medium
Brand: The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Category: Home Decor > Sculpture
Current price: $68.00
Description: An artful gift. The two graceful hands in this reproduction are based on Study for the Secret (modeled probably ca. 1910, cast 1956), a sculpture in which two eloquent right hands "hold" an intangible secret. Auguste Rodin (French, 1840-1917) was preoccupied with hands as the creative, shaping force between the world of nature and the world of artistic vision-hands in his oeuvre are full of expression, power, and emotion. ### 6. Rodin The Thinker Unisex Tee - 14K Gold Plate - X-Large
Brand: The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Category: Apparel > Tops & Tees
Current price: $45.00
Description: An art tee-shirt inspired by The Met collection. The iconic figure featured on this stylish tee is Auguste Rodin's (French, 1840-1917) The Thinker (modeled ca. 1880, cast ca. 1910), who was intended to sit over the lintel of the artist's monumental ongoing project The Gates of Hell, contemplating the fate of the damned. Independent bronzes of The Thinker became especially popular among American patrons, and this cast in the Museum's European Sculpture and Decorative Arts holdings was commissioned from the sculptor's studio by Thomas Fortune Ryan, the principal founder of The Met's Rodin collection. As one critic described it, The Thinker-simultaneously cerebral and muscular-embodies both "dream and action."

The original buckle is East German, made around the year 500 CE, while the gold-foil tongue is a Byzantine addition thought to be from around 500-600 CE. This striking ensemble, which we've nodded to with our own rock-crystal element, exhibits the harmony between the Germanic and Byzantine styles.
