## Description

The Cartier Tank Normale is where it all began. When Louis Cartier created it in 1917, reputedly inspired by the Renault tanks of the Great War, he established the template from which every subsequent Tank would descend. More than a century later, Cartier revived this founding reference through its connoisseur-focused Privé collection, the series reserved for the maison's most historically significant designs. Offered as a limited edition of just two hundred pieces in platinum, it is a purist's grail. Crafted in platinum, the Large model measures 32.6 by 25.7mm, its case defined by the strong vertical brancards framing the dial in unmistakable Tank fashion. A grained silvered dial carries elegant black Roman numerals, a rail-track minute chapter, and slender sword-shaped hands, powered by a hand-wound mechanical movement. The crown is capped with a ruby cabochon rather than the customary sapphire, and a black alligator strap lends the whole an aristocratic restraint. *This is a limited edition of 200 pieces.
