## Description

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "When I need maximum warmth for alpine basecamps or frigid bivies, this is the parka I trust. The 800-fill down is super lofty, and the Liquid Crystal Polymer shell holds up to sharp rock and crampons. It’s like wearing a portable sleeping bag with pockets."When our route takes us into bitter winds and sub-zero terrain, we rely on the Black Diamond Mission Down 4000M Parka to keep us warm and focused. Designed for high-altitude expeditions and extreme alpine conditions, this parka delivers full-on, sleeping-bag-level insulation in a durable, streamlined package built to withstand serious mountain abuse. Packed with high-loft 800-fill goose down, the Mission Down 4000M features a Liquid Crystal Polymer-reinforced nylon shell—one of the most durable ultralight fabrics available—finished with a PFAS-free DWR for added weather resistance. The articulated design gives us range of motion when roped up or racking gear, and the helmet-compatible hood and two-way front zipper make this a true belay-ready piece. Oversized hand, chest, and internal drop pockets stash water bottles, gloves, and essentials where we can grab them, even in gloves. For alpine missions that demand the most from our gear, this is the parka we trust to go the distance.
