## Description

This Venetian Italian paint decorated secretary desk with bookcase, circa 1890s, is a remarkable example of hand-crafted artistry and old-world European charm. Exuding the opulence and elegance of Venetian design, this unique secretary showcases finely hand-painted floral and scroll motifs across its curvaceous bombe-shaped base, drawers, and bookcase doors. The delicate polychrome palette, highlighted with soft greens, blues, and rose accents, gives the piece a timeless romantic allure, perfectly suited for both period and eclectic interiors. The upper bookcase features gracefully arched double doors with wire mesh panels, opening to reveal ample shelving for books, fine porcelain, or decorative collections. Below, a drop-front writing surface reveals a fitted interior with small compartments and drawers, perfect for organizing correspondence or personal treasures. The bombe lower case includes deep storage drawers with elegant floral flourishes, while the serpentine legs and scalloped apron emphasize its Italian Rococo influences. This piece embodies Venetian craftsmanship and decorative artistry, making it both a functional writing desk and an exquisite statement furniture piece. Whether placed in a study, salon, or grand living room, this 1890s Venetian secretary desk offers a rare blend of utility and Venetian painted luxury, appealing to collectors and interior designers alike.
